So ready to go... 3 weeks until D-Day!

Yeah, this is for real... no basketball involved...

And in the background, we have Dawna in a dress (she wants to wear a new "pretty dress" every day... it's kind of nice, actually...makes diaper changes and Sundays particularly easy). She is trying to put a diaper on her Cabbage Patch doll and is too busy to be bothered for pictures...

Monkey on the bed...

Dawna's daddy has made sure she is fearless... so in her spare time, she amuses herself doing stunts like this. I find it particularly appropriate that she is in a BYU cheerleader outfit :) Enjoy the cuteness of my daughter!!

Responsible 18-month old

Today, Dawna found a water bottle on "her" desk (it's Jon's, but when he's not home, I let Dawna take it over). The bottle had just a little water in the bottom. Naturally, once she discovered it, it took her all of 5 seconds to dump it out in a nice puddle and start playing in the water. I was a little annoyed and rolled my eyes at her. I didn't want to get up and clean it up since I had just laid down to rest my poor aching pregnant self :). So, instead of taking care of the puddle, I just stared at her playing in the water. After about a minute, Dawna got off her chair and scampered out of the room... figures... make a mess and then make a run for it.

I was just about to get up and wipe it up when Dawna came trotting back into the room... with a dish towel from the kitchen. I don't know how she got her hands on it, honestly... Without so much as a whimper or complaint, she climbed back up onto the chair and wiped up the puddle! Then, she got down, ran out with the towel, and came back without it (not sure where it might have ended up, but I hope it got to wherever it originated). Then, she asked for crayons and stickers to play with. It was just so sweet and cute to see an 18 month old girl be responsible for a mess and clean it up! It gives me hope that I'm doing something right as a mom :)
