Road Trip!

Last weekend, I took the kids by myself for the first time on a sort-of long road trip.  It was only 7 hours in the car, but that is long enough for me and the kids!

We wanted to go to Adele's birthday party, so we went... on of the advantages of home school... flexible schedule and all... Dawna was such a trooper early in the week.  She did two "double days" to earn two days off to go to the party.

All the kids had a great time at Aaron and Em's.  Thursday we drove in the morning and spent the afternoon and evening around the house hanging out and playing.  Friday was a marathon day...

Ice skating, frozen yogurt, drawing class, shoe shopping, playing at home, birthday party/ rock climbing. WHEW!

I did take actual pictures, with which I will update the blog, but for now, Dawna has the first report:

And Now for the real pictures, as promised...

Larry Went right out on the ice with the help of a little blue friend... I was shocked how brave he was being out there...

Adele and Dawna both standing at the same time!! Adele was very sweet to help Dawna figure out how to skate

And Dawna is skating on her own!

Xochitl loved trying to climb all over... and jumping onto the mats!

Dawna and Adele both scaling the walls!

Larry and Samuel at the top of the bouldering area... Larry would NOT put on a harness, so this is all the climbing he did... and he was ok with that... mom tried to push him into more, but no such luck

And Dawna going up...

And Dawna repelling down...

and up again... and again... and again... in case you can't tell, she had a blast! So much so that she wants to go climbing with daddy on her next date with dad!

Happy Birthday Adele!  I'm so glad we got to be there!

Wait a sec, you're homeschooling? I really want to know how that is going. Can you call me? 617-302-7544. That might be difficult with 3 kids each and 3 hour time difference.
